Here we go again! We are getting ready for the next trip - a 2-month plus trip to Florida to watch Phillies Spring Training games in the Clearwater, FL area. Other adventures en route are also planned.
We depart on February 3rd and are scheduled to return on April 12th.

ReplyDeleteI read your trip posts over the past three years, and am looking forward to the upcoming reports and photos. What route are you taking? Are there specific stops you are looking to spend time at along the way or back that you've seen before or not seen?

Gregory...We will continue to head down the coast, visiting additional CA Missions in SLO and Ventura and visiting friends along the way. We will mostly be staying at military facilities along the way including Vandenberg AFB, Point Magu NAS, and Camp Pendelton. This will also give us the opportunity to do some walking on beaches not normally open to the public. We hope to get some good pictures.
DeleteWe are then going to spend 4 days in San Diego, camping with friends, the heading east on I-8 to Tucson,AZ were we will spend a few days then across "fly over country" to San Antonio, TX. From there, we are going to Lafayette, LA for Cajun Mardi Gras then across the FL Panhandle with stops in Destin FL and St. George Island, known for its pristine beaches and lots of interesting shells. It is then on to the Tampa FL area for a month of Spring training baseball games and more coastal exploration on the west coast of Fl.
We will be leaving FL and heading home on April 1st. The trip back will be essentially the same route minus the CA coast option. We are planning to spend 4 days in New Orleans on the way back, however, to spend some more time in one of our favorite cities.
