It was a relatively easy drive today - 90 miles to Charleston, SC..
We are staying at an RV park at the Charleston Naval Weapons Station just north of downtown and part of Joint Base Charleston that includes Charleston AFB, a major USAF base. The park is nothing special but has all we need for a short stay. We even did the laundry since we got here early.
We are expecting heavy rain tonight, continuing through the morning then clearing in the afternoon. Our plan is to visit the Charleston City Market tomorrow then we have scheduled a guided city tour by bus at 1:30 pm.
Wednesday we are going to visit Ft. Sumter and Patriots Point where the WW II carrier Yorktown is dockeded.
