We hiked through the snow (about 3 ft.) down to the house. The power was off, the Durango and the Toyota pick-up truck were buried under the snow. Everything in the house was in order.
Our original plan was to get a few things to take back to the RV, get the driveway plowed and the vehicles out, and go back to the RV until the power came back on. The PG&E estimate at that time was for another 24 hours.
The yard guy showed up after we arrived and worked on clearing the driveway with his tractor. We helped with shoveling around the vehicles and were successful in getting them started and out of the driveway. We put the VW in the driveway and were preparing to leave with the Durango when the power unexpectedly came back on. After checking with mom and her caregiver and Sharyn and Barry (Their power was still out), we decided to go back to Beale, get our things out of the RV and come back home, leaving the RV at Beale. We also decided to move granny in with us for a few days until power was restored and things were back to normal over there. As it turned out, we didn't get back in town to pick her up before she fell asleep for the night, so we brought her over yesterday morning (Monday February 28).
So, we are home now, the power is still on and the only loose ends are getting the RV back in town and granny back in her house. As of this AM, their power is still off.
All in all, a great trip with an unexpected adventure at the end.
