Florida winter returned today. A cold front moved through this morning bringing a little rain, wind and colder temperatures.
The game today was with the St. Louis Cardinals, a National League team who trains on the Florida east coast in Jupiter, FL. This is the first time in 12 years the Cardinals played the Phillies in Spring Training. Normally the Florida east coast and west coast spring teams only play each other occasionally due to the travel times between the training sites. This year, the Phillies and Cardinals are playing a home-and-away series, I am not sure why.
The game temperature was about the coldest we have experienced since we have been coming here. At game time, the temperature was 58 degrees with a north wind of at least 10-15 mph right in our face where we sit. We were bundled up but were still cold as the game progressed and the temperature dropped to 56 degrees.
We lasted for 7 innings as the Phillies took a 1-0 lead. They held on to win in a 2-1 in a well pitched game by both teams.
Dinner tonight is spaghetti in the RV with maybe a DVD movie. No baseball tomorrow with other activities TBD.
