Another off day. I spent most of the day after getting up late to start planning our return trip and making reservations at the RV parks on the way. I cooked out a stuffed flank steak that went well with some deli salad for dinner.
The last baseball game is on Tuesday, April 5th and we will be leaving on April 8th. It will not be a straight shot home as we have some other things we are planning to do while keeping an eye on the weather and planning for some "hunker down " stops if needed. We have experienced April weather around here and in "drive over" country along the route. It is not to be trifled with and we will be prepared to wait out whatever may be needed.
When we leave, we are heading over to the Florida East coast to spend a few days in the Cape Canaveral area, touring the Kennedy Space Center and staying at what used to be Patrick AFB and is now Patrick Space Force Base. Maybe we will get lucky and see a space launch.
Our next stop will be Savanah GA. We will spend a couple of nights there. After that it is over to Alabama to visit an old high school friend whose husband just passed. From there it is up to Omaha after a couple of nights in Nashville to spend a few days with our youngest son and his family.
After Omaha, it is "going home mode" - overnight stops along I-80 until we get home. Our ETA right now is Wednesday, April 27th, depending on weather and any unknown factors that may crop-up along the way.
