On the road today. It was a fairly long drive for us these days (302 miles) from Patrick SFB to the Savannah, GA area. It was all Interstate (I-95 North) to our destination, an RV park about 12 miles South of Savannah. The weather was good, no wind, just lots of traffic around Jacksonville and very little road construction to slow down.
The park where we are staying is "rustic" but O.K. for our two-night stop here. We have reservations for tomorrow to take a combination trolley and riverboat cruise in Savannah and the adjacent Savannah River. We have stayed nearby on Tybee Island at the mouth of the Savannah River but have not been downtown. Without a lot of time for in-depth visiting, an overview trolly tour seems like the best way to get a taste of the city and things along the river.
