Spring Training 2022 - Day 72

 Slept in a little today.

Had a little fog this morning and we did laundry - our last until we get home.  It went well.  The RV park here, always busy during the summer, was pretty quite and there were no delays getting the laundry washed and dried.

We are going over to our son's house later today for dinner and an update on how the Nebraska clan is doing.  We don't get to see them very often as the grandkids are all grown, doing their own things and growing up around us as we get a little older.

Our youngest son Brian is retiring in May from the Lincoln, NE police department after 29 years of service.  He already has a retirement job lined-up in security at the VA clinics in Lincoln and Omaha.  Our two oldest Nebraska grandkids have graduated from college and are working in the area.  Our youngest granddaughter is a freshman at the University of Omaha - Lincoln.  Everyone is doing well and it was great to get together with them again.

From here on it will primarily dodging weather and wind and arriving home safely.  We head south tomorrow to Wichita, KS.  Our original plan was to head west on I-80 to home.  Alas, it is still winter in the Rockies and high crosswinds from the south are forecast from Nebraska to Utah.  Going south may make the wind experience better.  Our RV has a high profile, not really very heavy and very susceptible to high crosswinds.  Loaded semi's and cars have no problem, but it is a definite travel consideration for us.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
